Historische Bemalung (Skins) und Informationen zu den Focke Wulf Fw-190 Flugzeugen der II. Gruppe des Jagdgeschwader 2 in North Afrika,  fotografiert und gefunden auf Flugfelder und Schrottplätzen vom 16. November 1942 bis zum 8.Mai 1943.

Historical paintwork and information regarding the Focke Wulf Fw-190 airplanes of the II. Group of Jagdgeschwader 2of the  Luftwaffe in North Africa photographed and found on airfields and gathered on scrap yards from 16^th November 1942 till the 8^th May 1943.

Die Bemalungen / The paint works

Die Focke Wulf Flugzeuge der II./JG 2 trugen zumeist auch eine Tarnbemalung die im wesentlichen europäischen RLM Regeln folgte, d.h. die Maschinen hatten eine RLM 74/75/76 Standardlackierung, die mit Flecken Sprenkelungen die helle Seitentarnung abdunkelte, jedoch wurde einige Maschinen mit RLM 79 (sandbraun) übermalt. Diese waren jedoch in der Minderzahl. Zur Kennzeichnung der Zuordnung zum Mittelmeer und des Nord Afrika erhielten die unteren Flächenspitzen eine gelbe später weiße, sowie die untere Motorpartie eine gelbe Bemalung während am Rumpfansatz zum Leitwerk ein weißes Rumpfband in verschiedenen Variationen zu sehen war. Einsatz Flugfelder waren Sidi Ahmed und Tindja, von dort flog die II./Jg 2 zu meist ihre Jagdschutzeinsätze für die Kampfgeschwader SKG 10 und Sch.G. 2.

Die Maschinen trugen kein Staffelwappen und erhielten zudem bereits in Frankreich eine Querbalken auf beiden Tragflächen, der teilweise auf der oberen und unteren Fläche zu sehen war. Die Spitze des Spinner war weiß lackiert und der Rest verblieb schwarz.

The Focke Wulf planes of II. Group of Jagdgeschwader (Fighter Wing) 2 sported also a Standard Camouflage Pattern based on RLM 74/75/76 like European Standard. The Fuselage sides was mostly covered with RLM 75/76 sprinkles or splotches to darken the light blue under surface colour. Only a minor number of planes was over sprayed with RLM 79 (sand brown). Operation from the Airfields of Sidi Ahmed and Tindja-South, II. JG 2 flew their Top Cover mission for the Assault Wings of SGK 10 and Sch.G. 2.

As special Theatre Markings used on Planes of North African units the Wing tips and the lower cowling was painted yellow later white and a vertical white band was applied in different variations to the tail section behind the Balkenkreuz. Another marking was already applied to the planes when they left France, a whit band on partly upper and lower side of the Wings. While the Tip of the Spinner was painted white the rest stayed in black colour.

Diese Focke Wulf 190 A4 war das Flugzeug von Hauptmann Adolf Dickfeld, dem Kommandeur der II./JG 2. Das Tarnschema ist RLM 74/75/76 ist mit RLM 79 übermalt.

This Focke plan was assigned to Hauptmann Adolf Dickfeld commanding officer of II./JG 2.The Camouflage pattern is RLM 74/75/76 with an overspray of RLM 79 which gives the plane a certain look..

Diese Maschine flog Erich Rudorffer als Staffelkommandant der 6./JG 2 im Februar 1943. Ebenfalls eine RLM 74/75/76 Grundtarnung, die mit RLM 79 komplett übermalt war. Die Hoheitszeichen waren ebenfalls an den Rändern übermalt.

This Plane was flown by the famous Oberleutnat Erich Rudorffer as commanding officer of 6./JG 2 in February 1943. Painted in RLM 74/75/76 the plane was completely over sprayed with RLM 79. The Markings also was over painted at the edges.

ADDITIONAL INTERPRETATION

Die Focke Wulf 190 von Erich Rudorffer Einheit 6./JG 2 im Februar 1943 in der Interpretation von KAGERO. Ebenfalls eine RLM 74/75/76 Grundtarnung, die mit RLM 79 komplett übermalt war aber mit einer zusätzlichen Streifentarnung aus RLM 80. Die Hoheitszeichen waren ebenfalls an den Rändern übermalt.

The Focke Wulf 190 of Oberleutnat Erich Rudorffer  of 6./JG 2 in February 1943 interpreted by KAGERO. Painted with RLM 74/75/76 the plane was completely over sprayed with RLM 79 but in addition Stripes of RLM 80 Colour applied to Wings and fuselage. The Markings also was over painted at the edges.

Diese Maschine flog Leutnant Kurt Bühliger bei der 4./JG 2 im Februar 1943. Die Maschine hatte eine RLM 74/75/76 Grundtarnung, ein gelbes Ruder und zu den gelben Flügelspitzen einen weißen Streifen auf der linken und rechten Flügelunterseite.

This Plane was flown by Leutnant Kurt Bühliger as commanding officer of 4./JG 2 in February 1943. Painted also in  RLM 74/75/76 the plane had a white Ribbon on the tail, yellow wing tips and a whit band across the undersides of each Wing reaching from the Balkenkreuz to the yellow wing tip painting.

Diese Maschine flog bei der 4./JG 2 im Februar 1943. Die Maschine hatte eine RLM 74/75/76 Grundtarnung, ein gelbes Ruder und zu den gelben Flügelspitzen einen weißen Streifen auf der linken und rechten Flügelunterseite. Der weiße Teil desBalkenkreuz auf der Rumpfseite war abgedunkelt und die Oberseite des Flugzeuges mit RLM 79 Tupfern übermalt.

This Plane was assigned to 4./JG 2 in February 1943. Painted also in  RLM 74/75/76 the plane had a white Ribbon on the tail, yellow wing tips and a whit band across the undersides of each Wing reaching from the Balkenkreuz to the yellow wing tip painting. The white part of the fuselage cross was darkened and the whole upper surface was over painted with RLM 79 blotches.
