Normal Map / Bump Map file for RaFiGer

Für mein Template der Fw-190 A5 habe ich nebem dem entsprechenden Alpha Kanal auch eine Bump Map in 4k Auflösung erstellt, die meiner Ansicht nach den Bemalungen am besten entspricht. Probiert sie aus und ersetzt im unten angegebenen Pfad die entsprechende Datei FW190a5.dds.

Die Original Bump Map (2k) ist zur Sicherheit als BAK Datei auch beigefügt!

For my Template of the Fw-190 A5 I had created beside the respectivly Alpha Channel also a Bump Map File, which suited my paintschemes better than the original one. So, download the file and replace the original file FW190a5.dds in the game file in the shown path.

The offical Bump Map (2k) is included as BAK file in the download!

Eine Neuerung bei den Fw-190 A oder G Modellen war die Demontage der beiden kleinen Abdeckungen, aufgrund der immer mehr verwendeten Zusatztanks oder der Waffenbestückungen. Leider ist dies nicht modeliert un die einzige Möglichkeit ohen Änderung des 3D Modells ist dei Ausblendung mit Hilfe des Alpha Channels (schwärzen). Ich habe hier die Deckel "geöffnet" so das der optische Eindruck der späteren Modelle nachempfunden wird.

Was meint ihr dazu? Soll ich zusätzlich auch "normale" Schemen mit den Abdeckungen anbieten?

A new development for the later A, F and G models was the dismantling of the inner wheels covers to avoid problems with the Droptank installation and the RTC rack for additional weapon additions. Sad but it is not modeled in our 3D structure, so I have done it by using the Alpha channel and blackend the covers out, so that the optical illusion of the new cover is visible.

What do you think?!? Is it good to go with that solution or you would like to have also the normal version available?

Focke Wulf 190-A5 "325th FG"

W.Nr. unknown flown by 1st Lt. Jack Snefton near Foggia late summer 1944

This plane was catured by advancing elements of the 325th Fighter group 1944 in Italy from airbase at Lesina near Foggia. It was flown by 1st Lt. Jack Snefton of 317th Fighter squad and grounded by Colonel Chester L. Sluder due to worn out tires. After Sluder's departure several attemps on flying the plane fails and the bird was eventually abendoned.

It was painted on the surface in lightblue with the cowling and the wingtips painted in insignia red. It showed the 1943 white Star over a darkblue roundel which was applied on a yellow area on the fuselage sides. While the lower surfaces stay in RLM 76 the rudder was applied wit blue-white red ribbons.

Fw-190s tested by the U.S. NAVY

Dispite that the U.S. NAVY did not fight arial battles against Luftwaffe fighters, the NAVY was eager enough to test captured Focke Wulf 190s against their F4U-1 Corsairs and F6F-3 Hellcats.

One of these planes was the 1943 on Sicily captured Fw-190 G3 W.Nr. 160057 radio code CL-WE. It was a relativ new aircraft and the first scheme applied was the following:

German markings was and code symbols was overpainted with neutral grey and olive drab, that was also appplied along the fuselage sides. The NAVY applied their big stars on upper and lower wings on the sides over a yellow ribbion which not covered the canopy! At NSA Anacostia first trail was flown by Lt. C.C. Andrews after repairs and the plane was tested against the noted U.S. Fighters in every possible study.

The Flights takes 9,7 hours and was reported a report Captured Aircraft Equipment Report 14!

First Variant painted Insignia white

Focke Wulf 190-G3 "160057"

W.Nr. 160057 found in September 1943 in Gerbina, Sicily

The plane was found in a quite new status by advancing U.S. troops in September 1943 and taken over by th 85th FS of 79th FG. The plane was marked with the radio code CL + WE and had a standard Luftwaffen camouflage in RLM 74/75/76.

The first complete painting was done with a cover of Insignia white at the arrival and after inspection in the U.S. at NSA Anacostia. It gets a red spinner and cowling and a dark navy blue anti-glare panel in front of the windscreen.

Navy markings in 1943 style an and red bands around fuselage an starboard wing together with a red/white striped ruder completed the interesting look of the plane.

It was flown by different pilots also testing the capability of a Focke Wulf against the Hellcat fighters.

Second variant in Navy colours

After a while the former finish wears off, so the Navy decided to give the Focke Wulf a new finish with original navy colours where the underside stays in Insignia White 601 followed by Non-specular Sea Blue 697 on the upper surface and Intermediate Blue 608 on the sides and the vertical tail.

The Navy also changed the Airplane code to CE.2900 which was painted in a stencil on the top of the fin on both sides.
