  Skinpacks for the Simulation

All Skinpacks used beside the respectivly Alpha Channel also my own version of the Bump Map/Normal Map File in 4k resolution, which suited my paintschemes better than the original one. Downloading the MOD File and using a MOD Manager (like JSGME) you install and deinstall easily the skinfiles and the new Bump Map/Normal Map!

Therefore a safety copy of the original Bump Map/Normal Map is not necessary!

First Messerschmitt Bf-109-G14 captured in the Netherlands airfield Gilze-Rijen Winter 1944/45

Skinpack for IL2 BOS Series

In Winter 1944/45 at a former German airfield at Gile-Rijen in the Netherlands two, fully operational Bf-109-G14/U4 were found by advancing british troops. This first Messerschmitt with the W.Nr. 415 460 was originally painted and marked in German standard late war colours RLM 74/75/76 or RLM 74/82/76. There is right for me no evidence to which german unit the plane was assigned.

Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14/U4, W.Nr.: 415 460 was piloted by Flight lieutenant (F/L) "Skotty" Gordon on February 2nd, 1945 to RAF Hawkinge were it was painted in a RAF colour scheme with Dark Green, Ocean Grey with yellow undersurfaces and marked with a yellow letter "P" (used for prototypes or experimental aircraft), RAF roundels type year 1945 and later with the identification number VD364. Remarkable on this plane are the under each wings were four black and four white stripes, similar but not meant as "Invasion stripes" painted with five stripes of each colour. These markings appears on the plane in February 1945! After a series of tests at the Central Fighter Establishment RAF Collyweston during a demonstration flight on May 17th, 1945, "Skotty" Gordon was unable to lock-down the port undercarriage and overturned the plane. After taht incident the plane was flight unworthy and without repairs decommissioned and most likely scrapped.

Second Messerschmitt Bf-109-G14 captured in the Netherlands airfield Gilze-Rijen Winter 1944/45

Skinpack for IL2 BOS Series

In Winter 1944/45 at a former German airfield at Gile-Rijen in the Netherlands two, fully operational Bf-109-G14/U4 were found by advancing british troops. This second Messerschmitt with the W.Nr. 415 601 was originally painted and marked in German standard late war colours RLM 74/75/76 or RLM 74/82/76. There is for me right now no evidence to which german unit the plane was assigned.

Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14/U4, W.Nr. 415 601 was piloted by Flight lieutenant (F/L) D.G.M. Gough on February 2nd, 1945 to RAF Hawkinge were it was painted in a standard RAF but different to VD364 colour scheme marked with the Trainer Yellow letter "P" (used for prototypes or experimental aircraft) and later with the identification number VD358. Both planes looked similar to each other difference where seen by the arrangement of the camouflage spots and the spinner cap which was painted in Dark Blue for VD358 and for VD364 in Dark Green. Used colours for the RAF type camouflage were Dark Green, Ocean Grey with yellow undersurfaces, RAF roundels type year 1945 and later with the identification number VD358. Remarkable also on this plane are the under each wings were four black and four white stripes, similar but not meant as "Invasion stripes" painted with five stripes of each colour. These markings appears on the plane also in February 1945!

Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14/U4, W.Nr. 415 460 was piloted by F/L "Skotty" Gordon on February 2nd, 1945 to RAF Hawkinge were it was painted first in a standard RAF colour scheme marked with the Trainer Yellow letter "P" (used for prototypes or experimental aircraft) and later with the identification number VD358. In summer 1945 the plane was repainted and presented in new colours. Ocean Grey was replaced with Sea Grey, the numeral VD358 was painted in black on both sides on the rear part of the fuselage, the letter "P" was initially left but later oversprayed when the aircraft was prepared and presented in an Exibition for captured enemy airplanes at Farnborough in October and November 1945. While the Trainer yellow undersurfaces together with the RAF roundels type year 1945 and the nice four black and four white stripes underneth each wing stays, the markings chanced to EA-2 in Trainer yellow and below the cockpit stencils PLEASE KEEP OFF was added on both sides of the fuselage.
