Die Letzte ihrer Art Eine kleine bebilderte Geschichte der "Weissen 14" aus Kalifornien beheimatet im "Museum of Flying", Santa Monica CA Diese Maschine ist ein Messerschmitt Bf-109E-7 mit der original Werknummer 3579. Sie wurde 1992 in Finnland entdeckt und zum jetzigen Originalzustand in Großbritannien restauriert. Der erste erfolgreiche Testflug fand während der Warbrirds-Show in Chino, U.S.A. statt. Dieses Flugzeug ist die einizge originale, flugfähige Bf-109 "Emil" der Welt, und damit die Letzte ihrer Art!
Die hier gezeigten Bilder stammen von Kazuo Takei vom "Museum of Flying", 20. September 2000 Gebaut von Arado in E-1 Version, wurde die vormalige "Weisse 14 +" von 1(J)./LG 1 geflogen von Unteroffizier Hans-Joachim Marseille am 9.2.1940 bei Calais-Marck beschädigt, später zu E-7 konvertiert und als Weisse "7 +" zur 4./ JG 77 transferiert. Nach 20 % Beschädigung bei einem Einsatzflug mit Leutnant Fritz Geisshardt am 21.7.1941 repariert und diente dann bei der 4./JG 5 "Eismeer". Schwer beschädigt aufgegeben am 8.2.1942, wurde das Wrack ab 1992 nach Wiederentdeckung von Charlestone Aviation Services in England aufwendig restauriert und ist nun Bestandteil der Sammlung fliegender Legenden des "Museum of Flying" in Santa Monica, Kalifornien. Diese Maschine ist nun der einzige originale und flugfähige Luftwaffenjäger der Welt! Basierend auf der Bemalung dieses Flugzeuges habe ich meine "Luftschlacht um England" Tarnmuster in Bezug die Farbdarstellungen gestaltet. Ob die hier gezeigt Farbmischung in RLM 02 (hellgrau), RLM 71(dunkelgrün) und RLM 65 (lichtblau) den tatsächlich verwendenten Farben während des Krieges entspricht ist auch nicht 100 %, aber durch Recherche zumindestens "ziemlich" sicher !

The photos was in this small report was taken by Kazuo Takei at Museum of Flying, Sept.20 2000 Built by Arado as E-1, former White '14 +' of 1(J)./LG 1, flown by Corporal (Unteroffizier) Hans-Joachim Marseille when damaged at Calais-Marck on 2/9/40, later converted to E-7 and transferred to 4./JG 77 as White '7 +', when 20% damaged when flown by Leutnand Fritz Geisshardt on 7/12/41, it was repaired and later served with 4./JG 5 "Eismeer", being damaged in Finland on 2/8/42, it was recovered in 1992, it is currently airworthy after a lengthy rebuild by Charlestone Aviation Services and is now flying as part of the "Museum of Flying" at Santa Monica, USA and is the only genuine airworthy Luftwaffe fighter in the world. Based on the used colour schemes on this airplane I painted my own "Battle of Britain" skins using the same colour profiles. If these interpretations of RLM 02 (light grey), RLM 71 (dark green) and RLM 65 (light blue) representing th original colours that was used during the war is not 100% clear but if something matches the original schemes then it would be that one! © by RaFiGer 2002/2003 All rights reserved.
