Historische Bemalung (Skins) und Informationen zu den Focke Wulf Fw-190 Flugzeugen der II. Gruppe des Schlachtgeschwader 2 der Luftwaffe in North Afrika, fotografiert und gefunden auf Flugfelder und Schrottplätzen von Anfang 1943 bis zum 8.Mai 1943.

Historical paintwork and information regarding the Focke Wulf Fw-190 airplanes of the  II. group of the Schlachtgschwader - Assault Fighter Wing of the Luftwaffe in North Africa photographed and found on airfields and gathered on scrap yards from beginning 1943 till the 8^th May 1943.

Die Bemalungen / The paint works

Die Focke Wulf Flugzeuge der II./Sch. G. 2 trugen ebenfalls eine Tarnbemalung die den europäischen RLM Regeln folgte, d.h. die Maschinen hatten eine RLM 74/75/76 Standardlackierung, die mit Flecken Sprenkelungen die helle Seitentarnung abdunkelte. Zur Kennzeichnung der Zuordnung zum Mittelmeer, Afrika Raum erhielten die unteren Flächenspitzen hier jedoch eine weiße und die untere Motorpartie eine gelbe Bemalung, das für Luftwaffeneinheiten übliche weiße Rumpfband am Rumpfansatz zum Leitwerk verblieb ebenfalls. Die Balkenkreuze der oberen Tragflächen erhielten 1943 ein vereinfachtes weißes Außenkreuz wie zum Ende des Krieges bei den Focke Wulf 190 üblich.

Der schwarze Spinnerspitze war unregelmäßig zur Hälfte weiß lackiert und die Maschinen des Sch.G.2 zeigten auf beiden (!) Seiten der Motorhaube das Wappen der auf einer Bombe reitende, eine Axt schwingende Mickey oder Minnie Maus  auf weißem Kreis.

The Focke Wulf planes of II. group of Sch.G. 2 (Schlachtgeschwader - Assault Fighter Wing) sported a Standard Camouflage Pattern based on RLM 74/75/76 like European Standard. The Fuselage sides was mostly covered with RLM 75/76 sprinkles or splotches to darken the light blue under surface colour. As special Theatre Markings used on Planes of North African units the Wing tips was painted white and the lower cowling was painted yellow and a vertical white band was applied to the tail section behind the Balkenkreuz. The upper Wing Cross showed the white outline of the Balkenkreuz only since 1943  as it was usual on the Focke Wulf planes to the end of the war.

While the black Spinner was painted unsteady to half white the Unit emblem or code of arm of Sch. G. 2 showing a riding Mickey or Minnie Mouse swinging a Ax on a mostly white circle was painted on both sides of the cowling.

Diese Focke Wulf 190 A5 fanden alliierte Truppen auf dem Flugfeld von Protville im Mai 1943 nach dem Rückzug der Deutschen Truppen. Das Tarnschema ist RLM 74/75/76 Schema mit dem Staffelwappen auf beiden Seiten der Motorhaube.

This plane was found by advancing allied troops on Protville Airfield May 1943 after the retreat of the German troops out of Africa. The Camouflage pattern is RLM 74/75/76 with the unit emblem on the both sides of the cowling.
